Marimekko Crazy!

I am going crazy over the Marimekko line from Crate & Barrel.  I am not crazy about some of the prices, but the designs are insane!

I'm loving the retro feel and the quirkiness:

Aren't they fun pieces?!
They kinda remind me of School House Rock videos!

So on another note, I have been a bad blogger recently :(.  Life has been crazy busy, and I really haven't had a moment to breathe.  I miss reading all your blogs and have a lot to catch up on.  But I hope it's okay that every once in awhile I'll be missing simply because life is so good!  I'm working on a few projects, so I'll have those up as soon as they're done.  I'm also getting SCUBA diving certified, so I'm sure I'll have some stories about that!  Thanks for being great blog buds and for not leaving me when I've been gone!

Easter Decor Fun

I promise that in no way am I getting paid by West Elm.  I know I talk about their products a lot, but it's just because they have some of the cutest and original things!

Here are a few of their new items for Easter.  I just want to pinch all their cheeks!  (if eggs had cheeks)

Click the source button above to see more of their Easter stuff.  And leave me a link to any cute Easter decor that you've found or made!

One Day Without Shoes

A few facts:
  • In many countries children must walk without shoes for miles.
  • In certain regions of Ethiopia, wearing shoes and practicing good hygiene can prevent podoconiosis, a disease that causes swelling of the feet and legs due to prolonged exposure to irritant soil. In Addis Ababa, Ethiopia's capital, our partners work with HIV positive and street children, giving shoes to protect them from the dangerous city streets littered with glass, metal, and even sewage.
  • Mountainous and muddy terrain makes farming difficult, both physically and economically, and Maria has never owned a pair of new shoes. This leaves her exposed to infection, intestinal worms, and cold weather illness.  With additional protection from illness and infection, Maria can spend more days helping her family and building her potential in school.
Even if you can't go the whole day without shoes, try going without them for at least an hour, and check out onedaywithoutshoes.com to learn more about the importance of providing shoes to children.

Confessions

Confession #1:
I am envious of a 14-year-old's style.
I mean, how cute is Hailee Steinfeld?  I like dress #1 and love the swan dress and the stripped dress and dress #6.  I'm so glad she isn't dressing way beyond her age.  But is it okay for me at 25 to want to dress like her?

Confession #2:
I love peanut butter way too much for my own good.
If you like peanut butter fudge, then today is your lucky day.
To make the easiest fudge ever, melt baking chips and mix it with vanilla frosting.  You can use peanut butter chips, chocolate chips, any time of chip that melts well.  Be careful not to scorch it.  Once melted and mixed, let it set.  You can make fudge drops or fill a pan and cut squares.
Now go in peanut butter peace and spread the fudge love.
