Plum & Snow

I had another snow day yesterday!  The snow started melting, but I still enjoyed the crisp air and look of winter wonderland at our house.
It's been frigid here and in the teens (and we're in the south!).  Even Ruby is having trouble keeping warm.

Colin had to work, so I was home alone.  To entertain myself I did some knitting (the Hello Kitty socks helped)...

...watched some Netflix with Ruby (well, she slept)...

(Rupert Friend is yummy in this movie, and I really like Emily Blunt.)

...and tested out makeup inspired by this post.
Yes...I'm in my bath robe :)
Blush & Foundation: Beauti Control
Lipstick: Clinique "Black Lily"
Eye Shadow: Maybelline nude; Beauti Control plums & pinks
Mascara: Covergirl very black

Today I'm back at work and catching up on everything that was supposed to be done on the snow days! Anyone else snowed in?  I saw on the news today that every state except for Florida had snow (even Hawaii!)!!!

No-Knit Scarf

I like to knit, but not knitting might be my new favorite thing!  Following these WTF DIY instructions, I was able to make some Christmas presents in a much shorter amount of time than if I had been knitting.  And I love the look!

Let me know if you make one!  They're super easy and so cute!

SNOW DAY!

It started snowing last night, and today my hubs and I had a snow day from work!  As a southern gal, I only get to see snow about once a year (or not at all!).  Snow is always very exciting for us!

The view from our front window about an hour after it started snowing:

I got a white down coat for Christmas (with a fur lined hood), so I blend in with the snow but stay warm!

My car is snowed under in just a couple hours!

A few hours after it started snowing we decided to venture the roads and grab some pizza.

This morning we woke up to a few inches of snow!

Ruby loves eating and playing in the snow, but she gets so cold her teeth chatter!  It's kinda cute, but we know it's a sign that it's time for her to go inside!

We dressed her in her snuggie to keep her warm!

If you're lucky enough to have a snow day today, enjoy it!  It's given me plenty of time to organize my closets!

My Holiday Hiatus in (iPhone) Photos

Although I missed blog world, my little vacation was a much needed break.  Here's a few things I did over the holiday:

Ruby posing at my in-laws' on Christmas Eve

Treats I made: oreo balls, buckeyes, peanut butter fudge

My newest friends!  Colin bought two of them for me :)

New Year's Eve Dinner with Colin (we cooked it all!)
cheese baked gnocchi, stuffed mushrooms, skillet scallops, salad, cheesy garlic bread

Drooling over all the film cameras in the Urban Outfitters catalog (there's even a Hello Kitty one!)

My two babies cuddling

I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year's with loved ones.  Let's make 2011 count!

Holiday Hiatus

I'm going to take a short blog vacation to enjoy the rest of the holiday season (and I have some Christmas shopping/making to catch up on!!!!).

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas.  Enjoy time with family and friends.  If you don't happen to be around family or friends, find a way to make your Christmas memorable.  Maybe that means giving to someone less fortunate.  Most importantly let's not forget to be thankful that Jesus came to Earth out of love for us.

When I'm back (sometime next week), I'll share some gifts I made for Christmas.  I can't share them yet because it will give it away to the receivers!

Merry CHRISTmas!
