Embroidered Fox Raglan Tee

For Harlow's third birthday, we had a pumpkin patch party.  For her first birthday, I made a pumpkin shirt, but I don't really want to dress her in a pumpkin shirt once December gets here.  I wanted something that wouldn't look out of season once fall is over.  I thought this fox design was perfect for a fall birthday but would still be cute through spring!

The fox design is actually an appliqué, but I skipped the appliqué stitches on my embroidery machine and just did the satin stitches (or whatever they're called) that you see.  I did the H the same way, skipping the appliqué.  The H is also from Planet Appliqué, and (if I remember correctly) it's the Landon Alphabet.  Side note: I got the fox and alphabet for free!  Planet Appliqué offers free files on occasion.  Follow her on Facebook and sign up for emails to know when free files are available.

I used Sew What Pro to resize the fox and H and to remove the overlap stitches.

The raglan tee is from Walmart for less than $4!  Be sure to order it through ebates to get cash back!

I paired this top with a fox bow that was from my boutique I owned.  When I found out I was having a girl, I immediately bought the bow from the lady that made them for my store!

A toddler in a fox shirt is about the cutest ensemble.  And raglan tees-- the best!

Retro Phone & Camera Appliqued Toddler Shirts

Both of these designs are from Planet Appliqué (click HERE to get 20% off).  My mom got these shirts for Harlow for her birthday and asked me to embroider something on them.  Harlow loves phones and cameras (even if she doesn't know what a rotary phone is-- ha!).

The purple shirt is from Children's Place (use ebates.com for 2% cash back), and the pink shirt is Burt's Bees Baby.

Embroidered Arrow Shirt

Today is the first official day of fall!  I'm a little sad that summer is over, but we still have warm weather here, so it doesn't quit feel like it's gone yet.

I have started working on fall projects and planning new outfits for Harlow for the new season.

Her second birthday is a month away, so I'm busy with projects that I'll be sharing a month from now!

Yesterday I embroidered this shirt to start transitioning into fall once it's cool enough for long sleeves.

The Arrow Alpha design and Natalie font are from Planet Appliqué (click HERE for 20% off).

The shirt is from Children's Place.  I have embroidered on a few of these shirts.  They are affordable and usually on sale and embroider better than shirts you'll get from the craft store.  They also are softer and fit better than those craft store shirts.  I sometimes remove the pocket from these shirts using a seam ripper but decided to leave it on this time.  They also have a shirt without a pocket-- order it online through ebates and get 2% cash back!

I am in the middle of several projects and will share when I can!

Enjoy the first day of Autumn!

Thanksgiving Outfit (Embroidered Shirt & Feather Hair Clip)

When I started planning Harlow's Thanksgiving outfit, I looked for teepee designs.  Colin's family has Native American ancestry, and it's pretty neat to think about my daughter having that in her family history.  I love teepees and Indian images.  I found this teepee design from Planet Appliqué.
I embroidered the design on the yellow fabric then cut the fabric in a circle and stitched that on a onesie using my sewing machine.  I left the edges to fray a bit.  I like that I can use a seam ripper to remove the circle and use for a different project when she outgrows this onesie.

The font for Harlow's name is a font that comes on my embroidery machine.

I glued some craft feathers to the circle using fabric glue (you could also hand stitch them on).

I made a matching bow by gluing (with E-6000 glue) craft feathers to a hair clip.
I love both the shirt and clip so much that she will probably be sporting both well past Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone has a great week celebrating Thanksgiving!
