Embroidery: Baby Girl Gifts

I made this little onesie for my neighbor's granddaughter.  The P arrow design is from Planet Applique (click HERE to get 20% off your first order at Planet Applique).  I skipped some of the stitches to just stitch the design instead of doing an applique.  I wanted a little more of a clean look.  The other letters are Natalie font, also from Planet Applique.

I made this banner to send as a thank you to gift to someone's little girl.  I used Sweet Pea font from Boutique Fonts for her name name.  The Split Alpha design is from Planet Appliqué.  I used lace for the applique and like how dainty and sweet it is. (I took the banner pictures at night, so they're a little grainy from the artificial lighting.)

Girly stuff is so much fun!

Embroidered Antlers & Baseball Tees

How many raglan tees is too many raglan tees?  It's all I want to wear this fall!  I found these Rawlings shirts at Academy.  They come in adult and youth sizes and are $8.99 and under.  All the ones I saw in store were white, but there was a lot of sleeve color options.  I almost picked up the pink sleeves!  (Order through ebates to get 3% cash back!)

I love this antler design from Boutique Fonts.  The fonts are also from Boutique Fonts.

I first embroidered the antlers on woodgrain upholstery material for Harlow.  I haven't decided yet if it's going to be made into a banner or a pillow or what, but for now it's hanging in her room as you see in the photo.  I made it months ago and finally felt like it was the right season to hang it.  I used Sew What Pro to combine the antlers and initial, putting the initial behind the antlers.

I secretly wanted to use the antlers for myself, and I thought it would look good on a baseball tee for fall.  Using Sew What Pro, I put the M initial in front of the antler (opposite of what I did for Harlow).

The final shirt with the initials is for my mom.

Baseball tees for everyone!  :)

Embroidered Fish Banner

I didn't want Harlow's birthday shirt to have a number on it this year or a fish (her theme), but I wanted her to have something to mark her second birthday party.  I made a banner to hang at her party and have plans on how to use it after the party (stay tuned for a future post!).

The fish and wave designs are FREE!  I hand stitched sequins on the fish for an eye.  The font I used for the name is from Boutique Fonts, and the number 2 is from Planet Appliqué (click HERE to get 20% off at Planet Applique).  I used Sew What Pro program to combine all the files into one design.

I sewed a hem to put a dowel rod through and strung it with twine.  I got a pack of dowel rods in the craft sections of Walmart for pretty cheap.

Monogrammed Romper & Pillow

Harlow is turning two this month, and I wanted to take a few pictures before her birthday.

I got the romper at Sironia in Waco at the Pickles & Petunias booth.  It's so cute!  I sewed a little pillow to add a pop of color to the chair I got her at Laverty's in Waco.  The fonts I used to embroider the romper and pillow are from Boutique Fonts.

By the way, a post about the DIY felt bows will be posted soon!

Embroidered Monogram Hanging Banner

I sewed and embroidered this little banner for my nephew that was born last week.  Colin's sister had a baby boy, and I just had to make him something for the hospital!

The upholstery fabric in the woodgrain pattern was picked up from Hancock Fabrics right before they closed.

I had a small metal rod, and Colin trimmed it to the right length for me.  I used twine for the hanger.

If you're interested in getting started in machine embroidery, the machine I use is a good place to start.  The exact model number was sold at Hancocks, but the two models below look to be exact to what I have.  I see one has a foot pedal, which mine doesn't have, but I'm not sure why it's needed.  My machine will embroider a 4x4 space.  Before you invest in a machine, be sure to do your research and watch videos.  You need a computer and embroidery software if you want to use your machine to its fullest potential.  It's one of the most fun hobbies for me!

Monogramming: Women's Shirts

Summer is officially here!  Sun's out, gun's out!  Here are some summer shirts to wear all summer long.  Who says embroidery/monogramming is just for kids?  I personalized some shirts for my mom and me.  The shirts were cheap, so even if you had to pay someone to do the embroidery for you, you wouldn't be out much for the shirts.

My mom got this shirt at Ross for around $5.  I used the font Frog's Kiss to embroider her initials.

I got all of these Fruit of the Loom tanks at Walmart in the mens section.  They were less than $4 (before tax).  They are a Comfort Colors knock-off.  They definitely aren't the quality and fit of Comfort Colors, but they are much cheaper!
Both of the above monogramming fonts are the Interlocking Vine font from Boutique Fonts.
I wanted to do something a little different on this Walmart tank.  The pineapple frame and Mini Monogram font are also both from Boutique Fonts.  Here's a little secret I learned after I bought the Mini font-- you can download it for free in the files section of their Facebook page.

These tanks are perfect for a swimsuit coverup or even just a casual day.
