Vinegar Valentines
I picked up the Arkansas Antiques paper (which lists antique stores from around the state), and found an interesting article about Vinegar Valentines.
I had no idea what a Vinegar Valentine was. Do you know what they are?
Apparently there were Valentines that you could give to someone to tell them how you really feel. Not in a mushy way, but in a "I'm not very fond of you" way. Crazy, huh?!
Here a few of the ones that were featured. Some made me laugh!
Although I could come up a few people who are worthy of a Vinegar Valentine, I can't actually imagine giving one to anybody! Think you could?
Have a great Valentine's Day, and I hope you get some sweet Valentines!

Here's what you can win from me:
Here's what you can win from me:
The pin is reminiscent of a private school badge. The black netting adds a bit of sass. I was a public school gal, so this pin makes me feel a little elite :). Go enter to win it!
If you don't win, I have a couple more available in my etsy shop.
Here's the one I made for myself:
I'm channeling my inner Gossip Girl mean girl.
Good luck on the giveaway!

V-Day Decor (continued)
It's a SNOW DAY here! We woke up to a snow dusting with the snow coming down like crazy. So now the most important decision of the day is-- do I make pancakes or biscuits and sausage gravy for breakfast? While I battle deciding, check out the rest of my Valentine decorations, and have a great day!
Tablecloth: Target (Christmas clearance)
Heart wreath (on plate stand): Target (dollar bin)
Basket with heart liner: Target (dollar bin)
Red bead strand: Target (Christmas clearance)
LOVE blocks: Target (dollar bin)
Tulip vase: It had real tulips in it from Colin's last V-Day
Freames with magnets: had for awhile
XOXO candles: had for awhile
V-Day stamp: Target (dollar bin)
The LOVE blocks turn into other words like KISS!
On my buffet I have candlesticks from our wedding, other decor that I keep out year round that's red, and a heart plate (from Target dollar bin) on a plate stand. Ignore the candy canes!
Use what you have that's red and group it together or make a few purchases that are affordable. I love the dollar bins at Target (as you can tell!), because for just a couple bucks you have holiday decorations. Why spend a lot of money on something that will only be out a few weeks?
I wanna see how you decorated! Link to your blog if you have pictures of what you've done!
For now I'm off to cook breakfast (still deciding!)...

Blizzard Food
The snowpocalypse is about to hit, so I hope you're stocked up with some great snacks and warm food! Colin and I went to Walmart last night, which was highly entertaining. This is what's going to get me through the snow day:
We were at my in-laws' this weekend, and my mother-in-law shared this popcorn with me. She had a small bag from Walgreen's. I got this bigger bag from Walmart. Warning: you will consume more than necessary, so the smaller bag is definitely the safer way to go. BUT you'll be wanting more, so just go for the big bag! Colin said it was so sweet that it made his teeth hurt, but I'm immune to the average sweetness, so for me the sweeter-- the better! This is so good it'll make you wanna slap yo momma (sorry mom, but it's true, and you'd agree!).
What meals and snacks do you like on snow days?
